Just Talk About It!
Information about love and sex can be found online with just a click of your mouse, but no online words or pictures can be a substitute for a one-on-one human conversation. Being raised in a family where no one ever talked to about sex and love made me grow up feeling uncomfortable when talking about my body, my emotions and my sexuality. I got my information "on the playground" from friends, but I never thought to talk to my parents about these things.
We have the internet, but it comes with a price. Easy access to information would be great if everything you found was accurate or healthy, but unfortunately, much of what you find online is just not what real love and sex is all about.
Art Glasses
I saw a wonderful painting by an artist named Brett Rogers and I wanted to share it with you. Lately, it is as if I have been given a pair of glasses that has let me see things more clearly: the sunsets at the beach near my home, the joy on my son’s face as we play at the park, or the determination on my daughters face as she is preparing her paperwork for college. I have also been able to look at amazing paintings, with all the intricate brushstrokes, and I have been moved inside. I have felt connected to art on an emotional level, so much so that I have felt moved to tears by seeing the work that some artists put into their work.
